I thought it was a belated April Fool's Day joke myself. Then I realized it was an example of marketing and synergy gone wild.

It would seem that when not resurrecting a once-faded franchise (check out the Xbox 360 Tomb Raider Legends review here), Lara Croft likes to let down her hair with a trip to the poker table. And she's invited several of her Eidos friends for tonight's shindig, including Gex, Hana, and several other recognizable characters. Naturally, Lara is all about Texas Hold'em, as it is the white-hot style of poker according to pop culture.

Details on this Poker party are still a little scarce, but the game is headed for release this summer, just in time to catch the tail-end of the buzz cycle following Legends. As soon as I have more information, I'll be sure to pass it along.

But in the meantime, be sure to peek at Lara's party. Maybe you'd like to be invited this June?
